Q. What do Aerobiotix Air Disinfectants do?

A. Our patented, medical-grade air-sterilization system was initially designed for Hospital rooms, particularly surgical rooms to minimize infections during high-risk procedures. It became the gold standard in air Sanitization systems, adopted by labs, medical offices and now available to any industry that requires it’s occupants (patients, employees and clients) to remain safe from dangerous pathogens, mainly the SARS-COV-2 Virus.

Q. What differentiates the Aerobiovac technology in comparison to other competitors?

A. Our internal photolytic chamber contains powerful UV-C bulbs, 3 times stronger than our closest competitor. The patented technology prevents the airflow from escaping before it is exposed to the UV-C light long enough to maintain a 100% kill rate. It works simultaneously with mechanical, more traditional filtration (HEPA and a carbon/copper cartridge) to ensure that ALL viruses, bacteria and spores are eliminated in a SINGLE PASS to ensure the safest environments for all occupants.

Q. How much electricity does an Aerobiovac Air Disinfectant use?

A. The GERMZone uses 2 x 16 watts UV-C bulbs. The fan uses 2 x 4watts 100-240 VAC 50/60hz single phase, 3250 RPM. The ILLUVIA uses 4 x 16 watt bulbs for the UVC & is rated at 110 Volts & 10 Amps.

Q. Will the Aerobiovac Air Disinfectant alter the air turbulence of my indoor environment?

A. Not at all. Our technology creates a non-turbulent air flow and does not create disruptive air currents.

Q. How will I know if my Aerobiovac air disinfectant is actually removing harmful contaminants from the air?

A. The ILLUVIA provides a real time intra-operative measurement and assurance of air quality through the continuous air quality sensor display. Our scientific test results were validated through Battelle Institute and the Research Triangle and tested with above normal viral loads for further reassurance.

Q. How much noise does a Aerobiovac air disinfectant create?

A. The GERMZ measures, on average 55 decibels. ILLUVIA measures 62. By comparison, these products makes as much noise as many of our residential fan systems or as much as the average dishwasher.

Q. Do Aerobiovac air disinfectant produce or introduce anything that can be considered harmful to your health?

A. The UV-C chamber is contained within the stainless steel/powder coated steel unit, shielding any occupants from exposure.

Q. I see air purifiers at my local hardware store selling for a lot less than a Aerobiotix air disinfectant. What’s the difference between them and an Aerobiotix air disinfectant?

A. Air Purifiers bought at this level are quite simply mechanical filtration systems that captures particles but does not kill them. Aerobiotix is a patented biological system using UV-C technology to interrupt the biological structure of the DNA in viruses/bacteria to KILL, not CAPTURE. Our devices combine the two, biological and mechanical to achieve the cleanest air possible. The Aerobiotix air disinfectants is the only technology tested to eliminate SaRs-COV-2 (COVID-19) in a SINGLE pass through.

Q. Are Aerobiovac air disinfectant safety certified?

A. Yes, The GERMZone is certified with the UL507 / CSA 22.2 #113 Testing. The ILLUVIA is UL507 / 60601-1-2 EMC certified. Both products have also been declared FDA Medical devices (Class II) and are CSA certified.

Q. Does Aerobiovac technology emit ozone’s?

A. No. The Aerobiovac technology has been used in healthcare settings for decades and the ultraviolet lamps are completely sealed within the unit eliminating any risk to occupants in a room where the device is running. The units have been independently tested for UV emissions under international standards.

Q. What is the size of the SARS-COV-2 Virus, and can it be captured by ventilation filters?

A. According to ASHRAE; Research has shown that the particle size of the SARS-CoV-2 virus is around 0.1 µm (micrometer). However, the virus does not travel through the air by itself. Since it is human generated, the virus is trapped in respiratory droplets and droplet nuclei (dried respiratory droplets) that are predominantly 1 µm in size and larger.

ASHRAE currently recommends using a minimum MERV 13 filter, which is at least 85% efficient at capturing particles in 1 µm to 3 µm size range. A MERV 14 filter is at least 90% efficient at capturing those same particles. Thus, the recommended filters are significantly more efficient at capturing the particles of concern that a typical MERV 8 filter which is only around 20% efficient in the 1 µm to 3 µm size range. Filters with MERV ratings higher than 14 would capture an even higher percentage of the particles of concern. High-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters are even more efficient at filtering human-generated infectious aerosols. By definition, a HEPA filter must be at least 99.97% efficient at capturing particles 0.3 µm in size. This 0.3 µm particle approximates the most penetrating particle size (MPPS) through the filter. HEPA filters are even more efficient at capturing particles larger AND smaller than the MPPS. Thus, HEPA filters are more that 99.97% efficient at capturing airborne viral particles associated with SARS-CoV-2. (ASHRAE, 2020).

Q. Do the Aerobiovac air disinfectants come with a warranty?

A. The Aerobiovac air disinfectants are extremely durable devices that are able to withstand whatever its environment contains. The components are all made with the highest quality materials and the exterior shell is made from Stainless Steel and powder coated steel. In an extremely rare case that our product is defective, we do offer a warranty on both the Illuvia and the GERMZone of up to 5 years.

Q. What settings are ideal for the Aerobiovac systems?

A. The Aerobiovac ILLUVIA covers over 2500 square feet with an actual cubic feet per minute at 450 and the GERMZone covers over 400 square feet with an actual cubic feet per minute at 40. Both of these devices are mobile which allows for the coverage of exceeding spaces within minutes after the air is disinfected in an area, this allows for the systems to be used in various different environments.

Q. If the device is mobile, what are the sizes of the two devices?

A. The Aerobiovac ILLUVIA is 18 x 18 x 54 inches & weighs 150 pounds. The GERMZone is 16 inches width, 6.25 depth, 7.25 height & weighs 16 pounds.

Q. 14. What are the benefits of the UVC technology?

A. UV air purification is a chemical-free process and leaves behind no toxic residue. UVC wavelengths are between 200 and 300 nanometers, making them germicidal – meaning they are capable of inactivating microorganisms.

UVC requires no transportation and storage or handling of toxic or corrosive chemicals.

Intelligent automation eliminates human error or reduced performance.
